La tribu Lobi (N° 24181) Deposit sale

The following notes were collected during four years of residence in our African possession of Upper Volta. Charged with the administration of a territory inhabited largely by Blacks of the Lobi race, we were able, through the daily practice of customs, to grasp the spirit of what takes the place of right to this tribe, and to note the most interesting features. Introduction to the 1929 edition. (excerpt) The Lobi are still little known today, this study is one of the few devoted to them. The author sheds light on their history, their society, their religion. Through this testimony, there is a watermark of what colonialism was.
